Golden Triangle Package with Varanasi

This Golden Triangle tour with Varanasi starts in Delhi, and it ends in Delhi too. 9 days, 8 nights, four cities along the way — Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi. Couples travel on this one. So do families, first-timers, small groups of friends. Why? Because you get the forts and palaces up north, and then the Ganges out east, all in one single trip. And you're not the one booking hotels or tickets or chasing down a driver — that part's on us.

Most Golden Triangle plans wrap up once they hit the Taj Mahal. This Golden Triangle tour with Varanasi doesn't stop there. After Agra, you head east on an overnight train — or a quick flight, your choice — to Varanasi, a city where people have lived and prayed along its riverbank for thousands of years now. That contrast is really the whole idea behind this trip.

The first half is forts, palaces, and tombs. The second half, you're watching an entire city practise its faith out in the open, right by the water. Pace holds steady through the trip. Jaipur gets two nights, so you're not being rushed out of the Pink City after just one afternoon there. Varanasi also gets two nights, giving you a full evening for the Ganga Aarti and a full morning out on the river. Nothing gets squeezed in purely to check a box. If you've been searching for a Golden Triangle tour with Varanasi that follows a fixed plan with honest costs laid out, this is it.

Trip Highlights

Golden Triangle Tour With Varanasi: Places to Visit in 8 Nights 9 Days

The driver picks you up at the airport or station, drops you at the hotel. After lunch, drive through Lutyens' Delhi, past India Gate and the Parliament House area, then a walk through Humayun's Tomb — the red sandstone and white marble are worth taking your time over. In the evening, your tour executive runs you through the plan over welcome drinks. Night stay in Delhi.

Early start in Old Delhi, before the lanes get crowded. Jama Masjid, a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk's spice market, a stop outside the Red Fort for photos. After lunch, the highway to Jaipur — about 270 km, five to six hours with a tea break along the way. Check into a heritage hotel, rest up. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Amber Fort first, while the light's still soft and crowds are thin. A jeep takes you up to the ramparts. Back in the city, Hawa Mahal from outside, a walk through the City Palace Museum, time at Jantar Mantar — the 18th-century stone observatory. Evening's free for the bazaars. Overnight in Jaipur.

Checkout after breakfast, drive toward Agra. Halfway, stop at Fatehpur Sikri — Akbar's abandoned red sandstone capital. Walk under the Buland Darwaza, into the Jama Masjid courtyard, visit Salim Chishti's white marble tomb. You'll reach Agra by late afternoon, around 240 km out from Jaipur. Come sunset, catch the Taj from Mehtab Bagh, across the river. Overnight stay in Agra.

Before dawn, your guide's already there. At the Taj, the marble goes grey, then pink, then white as the sun climbs up. Breakfast after, checkout done. Agra Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah fill the rest of the day — the Baby Taj, famous for its inlay work. By evening, head to the station for the overnight AC train to Varanasi. Rather fly? Airport's the other option.

Come morning, you're in Varanasi — short drive to the hotel near the old city. Rest up, eat something, give yourself time to settle into the noise and the incense around you. Late afternoon, walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat, board a private boat from there. The Ganga Aarti plays out from the water — priests in rows, brass lamps, bells, chanting, everything in sync. A small clay lamp goes into the river before you turn back. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

First light, and you're already on the boat, drifting past the ghats — Manikarnika, Harishchandra, where cremations go on round the clock. Once the ride's done, a walk through the narrow lanes to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, then back for breakfast. Afternoon's a 10 km drive out to Sarnath — Dhamek Stupa, what's left of the Ashoka Pillar, and the museum. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Breakfast first, then a silk-weaving workshop — watch weavers at the handloom, see just how long one saree takes to make. Checkout follows, then a transfer to Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport (VNS) for the flight to Delhi. A car gets you to your hotel near the airport. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Breakfast, checkout by 11:00 AM. Time permitting, Dilli Haat and Connaught Place are good spots for last-minute gifts. The driver drops you at the international terminal with plenty of buffers built in. That's where the tour wraps up.

How to Reach Delhi for the Tour

By Air

You'll land at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), and your driver's waiting for arrivals with a sign, your name on it. Bags in hand, walk straight out, straight to the hotel. No cab queues, no haggling over fares.

By Train

Coming in from anywhere, trains stop at New Delhi, Old Delhi, or Hazrat Nizamuddin station. Just let us know which one, and the platform if you've got that too. Driver's outside waiting, hotel check-in's already taken care of.

By Road

Coming from somewhere close like Chandigarh, Dehradun, or Lucknow? Your hotel's booked either way, and the driver can grab you at any Delhi border point or bus terminal. Just send us the pickup spot a day before.

NOTE: Last day runs the same way. A private car takes you from the hotel to the international departure terminal, with extra buffer time built in for Delhi traffic.

Best Time to Visit Golden Triangle Tour With Varanasi

October to November

Clear skies, mild days — the best stretch for the whole route. Diwali and Dev Deepawali (the November full moon in Varanasi) bring the crowds out though, so book early.

December to January

Cold mornings, heavy fog. Keep a jacket within reach. Fog does delay trains and flights, so we build in some buffer time.

February to March

Pleasant, a touch warm. Decent window for long walks around the forts. Holi in March shuts shops for a day, worth knowing.

April to June

Hot, properly hot — plenty of days push past 40°C. Still doable with early starts and breaks through midday, just not the best time.

July to September

Monsoon. Fewer tourists, everything looks greener, but rain can slow down the road transfers.

Travel Guidelines: Golden Triangle Tour With Varanasi

  • Photography: Not allowed inside the inner sanctum of major temples, or at the cremation ghats in Varanasi. Stick to what your guide tells you on this.
  • Taj Mahal closing day: Closed every Friday. We plan your Agra day keeping that in mind.
  • Early starts: Both the Taj sunrise visit and the Varanasi boat ride kick off before dawn.
  • Phones at Kashi Vishwanath: Phones and bags usually don't make it inside. Your guide will show you where the lockers are.

What to Wear and Pack — Golden Triangle Tour With Varanasi

  • Shoes: Slip-ons or sandals work best. You're taking them off at temples and mosques anyway, so slip-ons just make it faster.
  • Modest clothes: Shoulders, knees covered — needed for Kashi Vishwanath and Jama Masjid both.
  • A jacket or shawl for those cold winter mornings in Agra and Varanasi.
  • Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Socks for hot stone floors
  • A small day bag. Large bags are often not allowed inside temples
  • Water bottle, tissues and hand sanitizer
  • Cash in small notes for tips and small shops

Why Choose Our Golden Triangle With Varanasi Tour?

  • Clear costs: The price you see covers the road, hotels, guides, and the flight. No pressure to shop, no surprise bills.
  • Hotels held early: Jaipur and Agra fill up in winter. We hold rooms well ahead, so you aren't hunting for one at night.
  • Taj timing handled: The Taj closes on Fridays. We fix your Agra day around that, and book the early slot with a guide.
  • Drivers who know the roads: The Delhi to Jaipur highway can slow down badly at certain hours. Our drivers know when to leave.
  • Two nights at both Jaipur and Varanasi - most plans give you just one each. Here you actually get time with both.
  • One team handling things from our end. The train's late, flight's changed — one person sorts it out and keeps you posted.
  • Your own pace matters too. Travelling with parents, or with kids? Just tell us. We'll cut the walks shorter, and build in more breaks.

“We had a fantastic experience with our tour guide and driver in Jaipur ! Both were incredibly professional, friendly, and made our trip truly unforgettable. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating stories and insights about the places we visited. He made the history come alive and tailored the tour to our interests. Our driver was excellent as well — always on time, very polite, and made sure we were comfortable and safe throughout the journey. The vehicle was clean and very comfortable, which made a big difference during the day. Thanks to both of them, we discovered places we would have never found on our own. Everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. We highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a high-quality, personalized tour experience!”

Rajasthan, Dehli, Agra, the Himalayas : it has always been a wonderful travel, either alone, with friend or my family (including young kids). Ask for Khem for organising the trip, and for Beer or Magam as driver. You won't regret it !”

“Planning the trip with Mr. Singh took almost 3 months, which included a trip from New Delhi to Agra from there to Jaipur to Varanasi to Mumbai. Mr. Singh took care of booking 3 domestic flights, choosing the hotels and accompanied us himself almost throughout the trip with an attached car including his lovely son Vishay. Lots of museums, temples, markets, restaurants in short, India at its best. I feel obliged to also mention the guide in Jaipur Babu. - Thank you on behalf of myself and my wife, my brother-in-law and my sister-in-law.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The flight is part of the package, with the airline's standard economy baggage allowance (usually 15 kg checked and 7 kg cabin). The Agra to Varanasi leg is the overnight train, or an optional flight. We confirm its cost before you pay.

Tickets aren't included in the price. Foreign visitors pay more than Indian citizens do. Before you travel, we send across an estimate for each site. Your guide buys the tickets on the actual day.

Yes. The private car means you set the pace, not us. Amber Fort has a jeep for the climb, but Varanasi's got steps at the ghats and narrow lanes to deal with. Tell us ahead of time, and we'll shorten the walks. Taj sunrise starts early too, but we can shift it around for young kids.

Depends on the train — AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier, or AC first class, all bookable. Bedding is provided. The trip takes around 11 to 14 hours. Tickets go fast, so book early if you can.

Yes. Varanasi and most of Rajasthan run vegetarian by default anyway. Vegan and Jain meals are doable too, just let us know before you arrive.

Delhi, Jaipur, Agra — yes, solid, and hotels have Wi-Fi. Varanasi's old lanes and a few highway stretches- that's where the signal gets shaky. A local SIM from the airport helps a lot; just carry your passport for it.

No, it's shut every Friday. We build your Agra day around that, so the sunrise visit never lands on a day it's closed.

No, not inside the inner shrine of major temples, or at Varanasi's cremation ghats. Your guide will point out where you're free to shoot.
